Choosing a College

I think I want to study biology or some kind of health field in college but I’m not sure.

When filling out my college applications, if i select Biology as my intended major, will that be set in stone for my freshman year?

Or can you change your major before you schedule your classes? Will colleges assume that the major you put on your application is what you still want?
