Is having college as a second choice beneficial?

I am a High school senior and I have not been thinking about college since I was exposed to the Broadcasting Industry. I took that you have all the requirements, necessary for college like take your SAT, send in your high school transcript, letter of recommendation, etc. I already visited the college of my choice, interview the counselor of my college and completed my application online. However, I am torn between two career choices, I want to go to this broadcasting school and college is not even the top of my list. Should I follow my passion for broadcasting or go to college?
